Ryuki ep 4, mostly about Ren

☆ Shinji getting kicked out of his apartment and showing up at Ore Journal with all his bags, all CAN I MOVE IN :D?? is just as ridiculous and hilarious as I remember it.
☆ On the other hand, I'd forgotten how hard it is to NOT ship Ren/Yui. I definitely know what sets it off for me. It's the way she talks about him, how she acknowledges his bad personality and his faults, but still believes in him so whole-heartedly. How she in watching him fight with purpose she can see beyond the aloof persona he's built up to something else. And I'm just gonna stop myself right THERE.
☆ It's funny because when I first started watching, I had an instant fascination with Ren, just because of the leather duster and attitude and whatnot, but by the time I stopped my first run (ep 15 or so)... I didn't like him as much as I thought I would? I will say though, at THIS point I find Ren tremendously interesting. The way he refuses to explain himself or give any explanation to Shinji. It's not just that he doesn't owe him anything, it's that he trully doesnt' give a shit if someone questions his actions or motives, and that's one thing I find irresistible in a character. Also, that whole conversation about SHinji having a cheap sense of justice, by Ren's standards, because he's fighting for something Ren considers superficial and has nothing at stage, and how that motive is not enough for Shinji to do what needs to be done. I'm not saying I agree with Ren (in fact, given the stuff later with Super Lawyer's scheme to make Shinji think Goro-chan is Zolda and the entire fallout of that, I would in fact say Ren is downright wrong) anyway, I don't necessarily agree with Ren's opinion of Shinji, but I certainly understand where he's coming from.
☆ I just get such a kick of watching Shinji ride around and try to chase "Ron" down on his little red scooter. XDDD
☆ This is all
dimmie's fault, but now I can't get the idea that Shimada eventually becomes Smart Lady out of my head. >.>
