gekidasa: (All that glitters)

"Yuya just gave him a once over that made pretty ridiculously obvious who's the boss of this relationship though."
[livejournal.com profile] dimmie  on Kuya and Yuya \:D/

Anyway, [livejournal.com profile] dimmie 's started Indigo no Yoru, and we just spent a good long while tl;dring on Kuya and Yuya (and totally going there!). And I haven't really talked about them THAT much in relation to each other, but I do find their interaction fascinating. There's of course the implication that Yuya was Kuya's mentor/sempai, and beyond the fact that it makes THEIR relationship interesting, there's also certain implications about Yuya himself. He must have been even bigger than Kuya is now... so what changed him? How did he end up where and how he is now, so different from what he must have been?

Also, its just delicious how Kuya throws it back in Yuya's face: "I'm in the business of selling dreams... YOU taught me that" Whatever Kuya is now, it seems like Yuya is responsible for it. And I say "throws it back in his face" because I think it's obvious that Kuya doesn't really believe his own BS And I don't think I would say Kuya resents Yuya's influence so much as... he probably resents the hipothetical change in Yuya, a little, his fall from the heights, if that's what happened. And just as interesting is the fact that I think Yuya could put him in his place quite easily but chooses not to. Instead he indulges him, and as to what the reason might be, maybe it's because he does feel a certain responsability towards/for Kuya... and maybe there's also a level of personal closeness in letting him get away with it. Like he wouldn't if it was anyone else.

Anyway. I really hope they revisit what they started to show with those two, and I really hope more is revealed about their past. \:D/
