Hmm... in this case, I gotta tell you we're really not that similar, because of this: if it trumps a lot of the pairings or gets in the way of an OTP
Years ago, yeah, that might have been me. But now? Not really, "getting in the way of an OTP" really isn't a reason for me to hate on a pairing. What I said about "relative popularity" in regards to Kabuto has nothing to do with what I personally do or don't ship (I said I like Misaki/Kagami, but I am not actually invested in it, I could like Kagami with her, Renge and even Hiyori, as it's set up in God Speed Love, and I don't really care one way or another about Tendo), it has to do with me being annoyed by how pretty much 99% of everyone that likes Kabuto at all thinks it's pretty much a given that one will ship this and that "it's so CANON!!!one11", and then they all turn around and give Kagami the same shitty treatment.
In other words, I get to despise a pairing because of what it does to the characters, not because of what I do or don't ship. And even when I don't personally like what someone ships... you know, as long as you're respectful about it, to each their own. I may not LIKE slashing bros-for-life, but I respect the fact that hardcore slashers WILL go for that, it's just irritating when they assume everyone else does too.
