Well. That was special.

The Good:

♪ Daisuke as a rebel badass type.

♪ Daisuke's rebel badass wardrobe.

♪ Tendou's silly hat.
...what. I like it!

♪ Kagami. In a wifebeater. Yum.

♪ Yaguruma, existing ~~even if it is as a version of ZaBee and not as Kick Hopper.~~

♪ I guess the fact that they made the effort to fit this into the tv series more or less logically.

The Not So Good to Bad:

♪ The fact that rebel badass Daisuke's flame went out so early. I mean, yeah, in the tv series he did end up being superfluous as well, but... I dunno. At least in the series he got great story arcs and didn't die pointlessly.

♪ Rebel badass Daisuke having no Gon. That is just sad.

♪ Yaguruma, NOT being Punch Hopper. *

♪ Kageyama, not existing.*

* I realize that neither of those things could have been possible in the movie because they hadn't happened in the tv series at the time the movie was made. But still! The Hoppers are one of my favorite things about the series

♪ The fact that even though the effort to fit it into the tv series somewhat logically wasn't entirely successful.

I mean... it was a nice thought, but... it can't REALLY be the same timeline because it was the mimicked Kusakabe senior that gave little Souji the belt, so when the movie goes back and retcons that into it being future!Souji it... kinda messes with it. Plus the whole reset button plot is a little wtf.

But I think I'm probably thinking about it too much. It was entertaining enough.
