...[livejournal.com profile] muzivitch and I have watched almost a dozen episodes of Faiz in one day. 8Dv

We just finished ep 24. So we are halfway through.

LOVE:

Kaidoh - Absolutely batshit crazy, and I love it. What can I say?

Takumi - I love the dumbass nekojita. He's a brat, and not the sharpest crayon in the box, but really very endearing.

LIKE:

Kiba - Not the sort of character that I'm guaranteed to instantly fall for (totally [livejournal.com profile] dimmie's type, though), but he's quite likeable and interesting. And I'm definitely liking him more and more as the series goes along

Mari - she's not as awesome as she was at the start, but she's pretty cool. I hope her role becomes more important again as the series progresses. And I love how she handles Takumi.

Keitaro - I don't like him as much as Mari and Kiba, but he's a nice kid. Kind of a cross between Kagami at the start of Kabuto with X's Keiichi. :D;;;

AM INDIFFERENT TO:

Yuka - I dunno. I just don't CARE. :D;;;

I DON'T LIKE HIM, BUT HE'S FASCINATING:

Kusake - [livejournal.com profile] dimmie said I'd either hate him or love him, and at first I thought I'd fall on the love side, but... I don't know. He's a snake. I think what cemented my dislike was when he was all "OH, TAKUMI JUST STARTED BEATING ME UP DD:". That shit annoys me. I must say he makes a great wildcard and antagonist though.

I'm really enjoying it. I don't have the level of MAD INSANE RABU RABU for the characters like I did for Kabuto's, but... well, Kabuto's characters are hard to top. They're quite interesting though. And the story definitely seems more coherent than Kabuto's... not that's a hard thing to accomplish, but anyway. :D

I think what I'm really enjoying is that even though I've watched relatively little Kamen Rider still, between that and what [livejournal.com profile] amamiyarin and [livejournal.com profile] dimmie in particular have told me about the franchise, at this point I'm definitely picking up on the Kamen Rider tropes, so to speak. I suppose some people could see it as repetitive, but I think it's quite interesting to see the different spin on similar ideas and situations that different KR series have. Like, obviously, the whole question of what makes one a human being, and whether a non-human can live as a human is present in Kabuto as well, and Faiz goes much deeper into it, and it's really interesting to see both takes on it.

And I have to say I was so terribly amused to see Uchiyama show up, particularly in a role that is sort of similar to what Kageyama seemed to be when he first appeared.

Also? Takumi and Kiba are totally gay for each other. \¦D/

Ray has yet to show up, though. This makes me SAD. D:

I soooooo called you liking Takumi and Kaido. 8DDv I think you really described Takumi perfectly there. A lot of the time you're like "oh COME ON Takumi, seriously now?", but he still manages to be endearing in all his awkwardness.

Kiba, I think you'll like him more towards the end as his character's progressed more.

Mari... tbh, you're already over her best parts. As the series enters the second half there's so much going on that she kinda takes a step back the third protagonist role.

Yuka and Keitaro I didn't care for much other than the parts involving their feelings for each other, like in the beginning where they were still messaging and then turning around to talk to each other, and the whole thing frustrated me so much because I just wanted them to find out and hook up already, because cuuute.

Kusakaaaaaaaaaa &brvabr;D Like I said a dozen times before, I love to hate him. He's a rare case of a character I seriously don't like but at the same time can't bring myself to "hate" because he's so fascinating. I don't know, I don't know. His evil antics make me wanna squee and punch him in the face at the same time.

Faiz makes me feel really awkward shipping-wise. In the series, I ship Takumi/Kiba like it's on fire, and Keitaro/Yuka because cute. In the movie, I'm all over Takumi/Mari and Kaido/Yuka, and I don't even feel guilty about it. D: Godamn it Faiz, I'm usually such a one-ship woman, why do you do this to me. DD:

But seriously, Takumi/Kiba is like, only one or two levels below the Hoppers from being canon. Their dialogues and looks of love towards the ending are dodgy enough that a lot of my 100% non slasher straight male friends have raised many an eyebrow at me as they watched. ¦3;;

Did you see my most recent post? I pretty much said exactly the same thing. :D;;;

Keitaro continues to be cute to me, so he's inthe like camp, but... yea, that thing with them got really frustrating. And she's... well. similar reason as to why I don't care about Hiyori, even though they're not that similar beyond the WOE IS ME thing.

Takumi/Kiba have just hit a rocky patch in their relationship where I am. I'm sure they can fix it, though! Love will prevail! ♡

I kinda blame it more on Takumi's because he's the one whose response to everythign is shutting everyone out and being pouty. I think if Takumi hadn't been so, well, HIMSELF, Kiba may just have opened up to him before. He SEEMED like he wanted to open up, at any rate.

ETA: Takumi STILL reminds me of Otto kitty.
