Up to Faiz 40, and more character talk

Well, I think I need to put two more Faiz characters in the LOVE list, and then one on the AWESOME VILLAIN list
Kiba - I mean, the reason I wasn't into him at first is he was presented as the poor angsty boy with a horrible past, his life SUCKS poor thing. And woobies aren't really my thing. But through the story he's grown so much, he's found a purpose, and through that he's become so strong... to the point where a few episodes ago the expected roles were reversed, and Takumi was the lost boy who didn't believe in himself, while Kiba was the holding him up and being strong, and trying to give him hope. Anyway, awesome.
Sawada - I've kind of been saying I like him for quite awhile now... I mean, unlike Kusaka, whose antics make me want to punch him in the face, and whom I love to hate, I don't really dislike Sawada for the shit he's done. I guess it's because underneath the horrible things Sawada has done there's a certain desperation that's very appealing. I mean, I get that Kusaka is also acting out of desperation, but it's different somehow. In Sawada's case there's always been something very sad and touching about it all. I guess the clearest example of that is that he wanted to badly to kill Mari precisely because he loved her so much, and those feelings were the proof that for all he tried, he wasn't really a monster. It's really quite tragic and touching. Anyway. It's also quite predictable that I'd like him so much, I guess.
As for Kitazaki... he's a very fun villain, and as such I like him a lot, but I hesitate to put him up among the characters I love in this series because much as I enjoy him, he simply was never as developed, so... Fun villain.
Also, I want to know what the deal is with Kusaka already. I was so sure that he was already, you know, but apparently not, so I have no idea what to think now. I mean... there HAS to be more to him.

Sawada was the most interesting of the Lucky Clover six, I think in particular because he was the only one with some humanity still left in him, while the others were mostly bwahaha-level villains. They did amuse me on that "fun villain" level, but they were pretty much empty shells for a series that's all about characters struggling with their natures, and Sawada.
Kusaka... do you wanna know now, or see for yourself?
ANdslkjadbsgjkl fucking Kiba I wanna talk about him so badly but I CAN'T because anything I say from this point on is SPOILAH. DDD: But I'm very pleased you're seeing his development and how his character is changing, and that it's gradually changing how you understand him too. I just had a couple discussions last month with some people who marathoned Faiz and, probably because of how fast everything goes by when you marathon or because they were too busy looking for slash in Takumi and Kusaka (ew!) or staring at Mari's legs, didn't see Kiba's development at all, and I had to retell his whole story to explain why I love him so much. So yeah. Go sensei! :D/

ACTUALLY. Poofy dandy Orphenoc stopped being amusing after a few episodes. For a long time we've just been going OH GOD WHY CAN'T HE JUST DIE?????
But it IS amusing when Kitazaki amuses himself by scaring the crap out of him, I'll say that.
But LOVE Sawada. XD
Kusaka... do you wanna know now, or see for yourself?
Kusaka... well, at this rate, we'll probably be done Wednesday or Thursday, so I can wait, I guess. But there IS more to him right? He's not JUST a human dude with lots of issues?
I actually have a theory, but I must say what we've seen of the flashbacks has to be a little misleading for it to work.
ANdslkjadbsgjkl fucking Kiba I wanna talk about him so badly but I CAN'T because anything I say from this point on is SPOILAH. DDD:
...You are making me afraid for his chances of survival. Because he's totally the sort of character to make a grand self-sacrifice for the good of humanity or something.
He's a lot like Shun, isn't he, in some ways? The moment I realized that was the moment I knew he wouldn't stay as he was at the start.
too busy looking for slash in Takumi and Kusaka (ew!)
Ew indeed. XP
I mean, ust and pissiness is one thing, and you know I'm generally all for that, but Takumi and Kusaka are REALLY not that.
Go sensei! :D/
Be yoi'd by my bigi? :D/

Poof dandy Orphenoc annoyed me from day one because his actor used to play a toned down Kusaka-like in Agito and I was like uuuuuugh bitch not you again when he showed up. :D But yeah, he gets more and more annoying and useless as the series progresses and he goes from dandy poetry-reading badass to Kitazaki's and Kageyama's lap dog.
ust and pissiness is one thing
Yeah, that's my issue with this kind of desperate looking for slash in everything and going always down the UST route. People end up pulling these really nonsensical forced pairings out of their ass and missing the actual slash subtext that's ALL OVER the screen where the goggles don't reach. There're quite a few other possibilites in the series if Takumi and Kiba's bromance doesn't float one's boat, but Kusaka and Takumi, seriously? There's no UST there, Takumi only keeps Kusaka around because of Mari, and Kusaka hates Takumi's guts so much he can't even stay around him for longer than a few seconds without starting some shitstorm. WHY would they want to come in touch with each other, leave alone have sex? Just, no. D:
I... will not say anything else about Kusaka and Kiba. You're so close to the end now, it'll just be better to see for yourself. :D<3

Blade the character is gayer than a fabulous little fruitcake too, it's pretty awesome.
