It's more or less in the same universe as Kuuga, yeah. They dropped the references after the first few episodes because aligning the timelines would make things terribly convoluted, but it remains that Kuuga's story did happen prior to Agito's, and the police in Agito developed the G system as a weapon to fight the Grongi in the event they came back, after Kuuga was gone.
The Unknown aren't Grongi, though. It's kinda complicated, but they're not the same race, just to the police they're all unknown life forms.
ETA: so this is kind of why this is the world where it makes sense for Yusuke to meet an alternate Yashiro, and to maybe stay indefinitely, because he KINDA SORTA could maybe fit into it?
Let's just say Kuuga is not around to help Agito after the end of his series. :D
Decade's Agito world made so much sense in EVERYTHING it almost made me cry. They kept the story of the worlds being more or less related, kept the relationship between the Grongi and the Rinto (the part where Daiki shows Yusuke the Grongi and the Unknown attacking each other) and even developed it a little further than original Agito did, and Yashiro as bizarroworld Osawa was just brillaint. *____*
I'm not sure Yusuke's staying, though. I wouldn't mind being wrong if it means Yusuke doesn't have to lose Yashiro twice, but even if he stays in Agito through the Den-O arc, he's coming back later, probably around the Kabuto arc that comes next.
Rinto are humans, right? I forget exactly how humans are related to Grongi? An evolutionary thing gone wrong? I know you told me but I'm still kinda confused.
I pretty much just assume, given that an ep is filmed about a month before filming, that this was a handy way to get Yusuke temporarily out of the story while Murai was off being Shishido, specially in Taiwan, so yeah, I also assume he'll come back when his schedule permits.
So Den-O is next? Than Kabuto and then Hibiki last?
Glossing over the things I can't spoil, the Grongi were the Rinto's rival race a gazillion years ago. The Rinto eventually won, and evolved into humans. In Kuuga, the Grongi are ultimately trying to eliminate the Rinto, but the humans the Rinto have evolved to are not match to their power, so Kuuga (who is a Grongi gone wrong of sorts himself) fights them to protect humans. Then there's the Unknown, who originally protected the Rinto from the Grongi, but now have their own agenda.
The episodes are actually shot around two months before their air. :D And the Yusuke thing wasn't really about Tenimyu, it was about not having Kuuga in the new Den-O movie, which iinm is supposed to take place some time between the two Den-O world episodes. They couldn't have Kuuga there when they hardly have space for Decade in it. 8D;;
Next is Den-O, Kabuto and Hibiki, yeah. I'm eager to see what happens to Decade when the world-hopping is done, the whole thing got really formulaic after a while. Sure seeing the old riders again is awesome, but the little story it had going on at the beginning isn't really going anywhere so far.
I don't know, tbh. There've been no new rumors about the length of the series, though I tend to believe the 30 eps thing because... why else would Ma-kun have said that.
And also, because Decade eats up as much budget in CG/casting/locations/etc for one episode as a regular rider would for two or three, and it's totally showing signs of coughing up at this point already. I don't think they could keep up 50 episodes of this without running Toei/Bandai into the ground. :D;;
Maybe they'll start using up LESS FX budget when they stop world hopping. I imagine that between the suits and the old monsters and the new owie transformations every two weeks, that accounts for a lot.

Takumi's and Kazuma's bondage forms didn't look painful at all. Their legs were even closed the whole time, and their heads didn't snap back or disappear into the body or anything. >>

Hm. HMM. Well, since Kuuga is not subbed and you probably won't see it in a while anyway. Kuuga's power is in the belt. Yusuke's body absorbs the belt in the beginning, and he gains Kuuga's powers. The belt then starts modifying his body, eventually more or less turning him into a Grongi of sorts. So he starts out a human, but ends up... something not grongi, but not completely human either.
The same may or may not still happen to Decade!Yusuke. I don't know if there would be enough screen time to explain all that, but they did show Yusuke's final black form (which is basically "not completely human" Yusuke) in the rider war dream sequence, so who knows.

Actually, no. This is one of the point where Kuuga and I are a little dissonant. In Kuuga world, no matter how fucked up everything around them is, everything can be fixed with a thumbs up and a smile. It's endearing in the beginning, but after a while it starts grating on you just how these people can be living through such a terrible situation and not being affected by the gravity of it just because Godai thumbs up and says it'll be ok. Ichijo-san (the Yashiro equivalent) is the only character I could really relate to, and pretty much the only one I don't want to kick in the face in the end. :D
Haha, the Power Rangers thing only happens when I mention sentai. People usually know what I'm talking about when I mention Rider ("oh, as in Kamen Rider Black? I watched that as a kid! :O"), but when I bring up sentai... yeah. I have to do the whole Power Rangers routine too. XD

Hmm... well, Brazil is a lot more japanophily than Costa Rica, so. Basically, the people that are into Japanese stuff are mostly in it for the anime, and if they're not in it for the anime, then they're honestly interested in just the culture and don't really spare much thought for the nuttier products of japanese pop culture. (These are a tiny minority).
I don't think I've met one person that is into japanese live-action anything-that-is-not-horror. But then, I kind of am not really IN costarican fandom.
But anyway, no one knows what the hell I'm talking about if I say "Kamen Rider". Older people remember Ultraman, but most people just go straight to Power Rangers.
Well, it really depends on the age range too. People my age and older all watched toku as kids because we had a channel here that aired toku for a good six-eight years, so if you pull their memory with "remember, Kamen Rider Black, Jiraya, Juspion, Winspector, Changeman, all that stuff?" they'll vaguely remember something to do with Japanese people and power suits. People younger than me are either only interested in animu or default back to "oh, it's Japanese Power Rangers".
