Right, so. I still think Tsukasa has chemistry pretty much with everyone he meets, but let's just get this out of the way: I've had a Decade OTP for awhile now, I just hadn't, you know, come out about it. :3
The last few episodes have been really strong in the Tsukasa/Natsumi department, but for obvious reasons, this one cemented it and blew everything else out of the water. But it's as much the subtle little things as it is the big things.

First of all, Natsumi standing protectively between Tsukasa and Kotaro and standign up for him and saying he's not a destroyer. This was awesome and hot and really really sweet. And I think it's as much the fact that Natsumi, who's basically a normal girl, doesn't even think about and just... goes to protect this superpowered dude in a bug suit from another superpowered dude in a bug suit without ever thinking about the fact that... she has no superpowers, as it is also that she really believes in him and wants to protect him in the sense of... well, she HATES this idea everyone has that Tsukasa is a destroyer of worlds. She's come to see there's more to him than the douchebag act he puts on and it hurts her to see people not look beyond that, I think.
And if that doesn't speak volumes for her feelings I don't know what does. :D/
And I love how the strenght of her belief is enough to convince Kotaro inmediately. :D

And this is just hot, Tsukasa getting in her personal space like that. :D;;;

Incidently what the hell was Tsukasa's damage at the start of the episode. Didn't he already decide last episode that he was needed and shit? And yet here he is pulling the pouty I don't need no one to care about me and I dont care about anyone act.
And that scene, he was SUCH a dick to Nasumi. Bet he feels real bad about it now.

Yeah, okay, and the thing I mentioned in my last post, about how he puts his arm possessively/protectively around her as they ran at the beginning, it's not just that. It's like how here he was standing behind her and his first instinct is to get in front of her and pushe her back and shield her. He may be a dick but his body language just says SO much about how important she is to him.

And back to Natsumi not even stopping to think that a normal girl has no business getting in the middle of these fights, and how she just runs to protect him.

The expression on Tsukasa's face when he sees her get hurt. ;____;
I think one of the things about Tsukasa is how he really is not prepared, a lot of the time, for the consequences of his actions, direct or in this case indirect. Probably because of the scene later with Yusuke this episode is a sort of call back to the issues from Kuuga world, and how Tsukasa never stopped to think what would happen if his intricate plan failed and definitely did not expect to see anyone get hurt or killed because of it.
He never expected Natsumi to do what she did and he's shocked that she could get hurt. Because she's not SUPPOSED to get hurt. She's supposed to always be okay, waiting for him to come home.
Yeah yeah, you can read that as sexist, I don't really care. XP

And how he runs to catch her and the way he's holding her. *_*

And this! Yusuke rushing to protect both of them! I loved this moment, because it's just so beautifully evident that Yusuke, Tsukasa and Natsumi are a family now.

And its only when the danger is gone that he rushes to Tsukasa and Natsumi. Because protecting them both was the most important thing. I love Yusuke so.

Hard to see at the size, but Tsukasa looks so utterly devastated. And the way he says her name in this sequence. He really never expected her to get hurt. And also, the way that Yusuke is watching not Natsumi but Tsukasa in this shot. That right there, that clinched tsukasa/Natsumi for me just as much as Tsukasa's reaction to her being hurt.
Again, it's a throwback to Kuuga world, and how Tsukasa obviously felt bad that Yashiro died... but he felt even worse on Yusuke's behalf. To Tsukasa, then, it was more about how Yashiro's death affected Yusuke. Now... it's not that Yusuke doesn't care a lot about Natsumi, because he does, but you can see how... it's hard to explain. But basically, Yusuke himself realizes that Natsumi's life being in danger affects Tsukasa most of all.

Aaaand Tsukasa angsting on the rooftop, Yusuke telling him to go be by Natsumi's side, and Tsukasa replying that being close to him is dangerous. Narutaki has called him a destryer of worlds and people have treated him as such, and even though he's fucked up in the past, it's never hit so close to home. Natsumi got hurt because of him, and now Narutaki's words mean something. Now he sees how someone he loves can be hurt just by being close to him, and it's eating him up.

And hello there, Smiley Troll-chan! Nice to see you're just as inappropriately devlish as always.

I LOLed. 8D
And finally, the point I was getting at:

"Natsumi wo tanomu"

And Yusuke's reaction.
First he was pissed off that Tsukasa was telling him to stay, because damnit, the plot may be trying to make him into a Kitchen Guy (™
dimmie) but he's Kuuga, and he protects people, specially those he cares about, so how dare Tsukasa tell him he should stay instead of being out there doing something.
But then Tsukasa entrusts Natsumi to him, and he gets it. And he's going to stay and watch over and protect his buddy's girl while he's off doing what has to be done.
And that's pretty much it right there, isn't it? Yusuke cares about both of them but right then you see how he sees that Natsumi means something special to Tsukasa. Just like Tsukasa knew what Yashiro meant to him.

I didn't see it when I first watched, but now that I was screencapping... look at Tsukasa's fist as he walks. He is PISSED. They touched Natsumikan, now they're going to pay.
And finally...

You can totally see how Tsukasa would benefit from having someone like Kotaro to be his mentor.

I noticed the clenched fist too, and I had the same reaction. Someone is pissed off, and many enemies would die for this. o(^.^)o

Trollie does need a good spanking, and I hate to admit it, but I'm starting to think it should come from Yusuke.

YES! Order is restored to the universe \:D/

Date: 2009-07-26 05:57 pm (UTC)I feel super guilty for thinking about maybe kinda but not really wanting to slash Daiki and Yusuke a liiiitle bit because I really do believe it's still too soon for Yusuke, as it comes off obvious to me in the small hints here and there that he's not completely over the Ai incident yet, even after the events of Agito world - but it's weird how the two suddenly have this cute chemistry that came completely out of the left field, out of nowhere, that plays so well off each other in a completely different way they both play off Tsukasa. The more Daiki acts like this mentally 5 years old bratty uke, the more I think Yusuke really needs to get his hands on him and give him a nice healthy cup of STFU - but not now, because not only now is just not the time for that kind of thing, but they're not quite there yet either. They seem to be more or less heading there, but before the whole saving the world thing is in the way, Yusuke is still hung up on being as lost and homeless as Tsukasa, and Daiki hasn't learned the hard way to settle his troll ass down a little bit, they're going nowhere.
I guess I should just admit already I future ship them and call it a day. .___.
no subject
Date: 2009-07-26 06:14 pm (UTC)But yes, Yusuke REALLY would not be with anyone right now. And Daiki is just as lost as Tsukasa and Yusuke and has the emotional maturity of preschooler. So realism (in the ending, I mean) or not, I do hope all 4 make it out and find a place to settle down and THEN yeah (because Natsumi is to be just as lost real soon).
But I think Yusuke defintiely COULD and maybe even should smack him down a little now. Maybe not NOW now, but soon. Daiki needs SOMEONE to do it.
I guess I should just admit already I future ship them and call it a day. .___.
That's probably the best way. XD

Date: 2009-07-26 06:53 pm (UTC)And yeah, it hit me in Daiki's world, how ultimately what we're heading to is a scenario with four people who at the end of the day were all rejected by their own worlds and left completely lost and alone, and now only have each other left to lean on. It's a sad resolution, but at the same time not because at least they do have each other, and these four people complete each other so well it's like the universe conspired to unite them so they could each fill the blanks the other was lacking in their original worlds.
no subject
Date: 2009-07-26 07:18 pm (UTC)But I could totally see Daiki being a pouty brat and trying to get a kiss and Yusuke turning away because he can't right now, even though against all reason he's come to really like Daiki in spite of his MANY MAY flaws. And Daiki not getting it because he just doesn't know and basically making an absolute pest of himself for days to hide being hurt until someone (Natsumi, probably) takes him aside and tells him enough to try to get him to understand.
Seriously, how did Daiki end up turning into the cute little woobie?

And that's why I really want all 4 of them to make it out alive. But at the same time, what we talked about yesterday, how epic it would be if it turned into Tsukasa sacrificing himself for everyone else.

I DON'T KNOW. I didn't even like him too much. Or actually idk, I wasn't even paying too much attention to him. And then he becomes this adorable moeblob and such a ridiculous uke it's just sad, and suddenly I love him like that stupid successful troll is successful grin of his is going out of fashion. :|

Date: 2009-07-26 08:06 pm (UTC)And yes, it would actually be a really interesting thing for hipothetical fanfic writers to explore. Because everything in Decade has been happening so fast, with no time for anyone to really deal with anything, and more punches coming at them in the near future, so I think when it's over, they all (or those of them that make it) are going to have to spend a lot of time kind of... sharing the experience of being alone, and processing things, and getting used to them and ultimately coming to terms with them.

Date: 2009-07-26 06:19 pm (UTC)Part of it is it's really become very much that sort of bromance relationship I love to see and don't particularly want to mess with (like Kagami and Tendou, and Hajime and Kenzaki, and Hikawa and SHoichi), and the other part is I really don't like the, um, general take I see on them in fanfic. Again, it's reminiscent of T/K and just... not my cup of tea. :3

I mean, the boys can fool around. :Dv
I will say also, I no longer see Tsukasa and Yusuke's relationship as slashable. Bromance, yes, but not slashable. I think it's in part because from what I've seen people tend to make Yusuke all naive and exploitable and while he's very innocent I just don't think he's like THAT, you know? Plus, well, spoilers for this ep.
