一番大好き Kamen Riders

List 10 of your favorite characters from different fandoms Kamen Riders, and ask people to spot patterns in your choices, and if they're so inclined, to draw conclusions about you based on the patterns they've spotted.
Kitaoka - This one is kind of funny considering I'm only 15 episodes into the series. I mean, the others go in the 一番大好き list not just because of first impressions, but in large part because of their journeys and what is revealed about them over the course of the series... this is not to say I dont think there's layers to Kitaoka (I'm in far enough to have seen enough to know there), just that... I don't realy know his journey yet. On the other hand, Kitaoka is just SO entertaining in his antics... in fact I'd say the only one comparable is Tsukasa, in the sense that their jackassery is entertaining to me and a part of why I like them.
Yaguruma - If you know what I like, you know I would love Yaguruma, pretty much. I wasn't really into Kanzen Chowa!Yaguruma, but the minute he came back dragging his spur agross the ground, wearing his beaten up leather duster and ripped wifebeater, kicking ass and being utterly nihilistic and damaged... it was love. XD
KaGAAAmi - I didn't really like Kagami at the start of Kabuto, to be perfectly honest. :D;;;;
He seemed to be just the faily sidekick. But then things started happening, and in spite of being the universe's buttmonkey, he just had that spirit and that unshakeable faith and... yeah. Ended up loving him to bits.
Kenzaki - Favorite main rider ever, I think. A lot I think is in Tsubaki's interpretation, but I can't help loving him for his goodness and his optimism in spite of all the crap he goes through. And then, well... suffice it to say that what he does at the end of Blade sealed the deal. Broke my heart too, but made me love him even more.
Hajime - His is probably my favorite character story arc in what I've seen of Kamen Rider. He starts off as a character I like just because it's an archtype I'm drawn to, but between the revelations about him, and his journey and his struggles he ends up even more fascinating.
Hikawa - Tada no ningen. Oh, man. I love the dumbass dork to distraction. In part because he IS a clumsy dork who, just like he says, is only human. He has his little failures and his hangups and he has his ego too, even if he doesn't let it control him. He's only human in a battle between gods and the chosen of the gods. He's way in over his head from the start, and he just stays and fights until only human takes on an entirely different meaning.
Tsukasa - So truth be told, I expected to like Tsukasa, even love him. But I didn't expect him to be who he turned out to be, and he ended up on this list for reasons I never expected. I expected to like him because he was an amusing cocky ass... I did not expect the cocky ass to be a mask hiding such a fascinating character. I love Tsukasa because he's so full of contradictions. And I've loved his journey too. It's been subtle, and ouwardly he's still the cocky ass from the first episode, but he's changed and grown so much and it's been a great ride.

Re. Takeru, eeeeeh it's just plebe flu. The elevens are crazy about diseases, a half-cough means you're dying and must be urgently ushered to a hospital in Germany to have brain surgery.

Date: 2009-08-17 09:22 pm (UTC)It's kind of funny how hysterical people get over this stuff though. I mean, I know it's serious business in that it can kill you if there are risk factors and it could be bad if there was a huge pandemia, but at the same time people get so caught up in it that it kinda becomes a joke. You-know-who caught a cold over summer because they were shooting with water, and at his first sneeze his agency was all NOOOOES HE'S GONNA DIIIIIIE on him until he had to get all pissy and "dudes, it's just a cold, chill". orz

Date: 2009-08-17 09:26 pm (UTC)There was a case in our apartment complex and my mother was like OH NOES WE HAVE TO WEAR MASK AND NOT TOUCH ANYTHING IN THE COMMON AREAS AND NOT TALK TO ANYONE, and I was like DUDE. Chill. Out.
My cousin's wife told me that she felt like the were lepers. They were quarantined in their house and like my aunt would come drop stuff like groceries off by leaving it at the door and then after she left, my cousin could come to the door to get them. :/

Date: 2009-08-19 01:06 pm (UTC)I think I'm also drawn to that archetype, and yeah, in addition to that, his stories really do become more fascinating as the series goes on.
Speaking of Blade, I'm just reminded of this quiz, in case you haven't seen it.
Which Kamen Rider Blade Rider Are You?
I got Hajime, and while I like him, I hope I'm not that much similar to him. ^^;

Date: 2009-08-19 02:28 pm (UTC)Those quizzes tend to be really obvious though. Ah well.

Date: 2009-08-19 05:15 pm (UTC)True, the quiz is obvious, but then I guess it has to be because the quiz maker was trying to fit characters into their own neat little boxes so had to define them that way. But yeah, you probably know all that, so ah well.
And, oh, I thought I might know who "Crazypants" is (think he's in the series I've already seen), but I'm totally drawing a blank right now. ^^;;
Anyway, I'm very sleepy now so I'll be heading off to bed. Will be catching up with posts when I return. :)
