I used waaay back to DL tsubasa Chronicles scnalations on irc, but it was a bit of a mess using the bots and stuff, so I wonder bout for huge files like avis. Once I tried to DL Code Geass and took quite a lot. >>;;
Generally irc channels are friendly, but yes, I met a rude guy who told me leecher on my first visit and never felt like returning. >>;;
I never stepped a foot on irc, I think a chat where you share archives is too...weird. And yeah, upload a 500mb archive in torrent is difficult, I wonder in irc D: By the way, I love Tsubasa, one of my fave mangas!
I had friends with bad experiences on irc, not funny :\
I believe the most complicated part is to get the codes right to ask for a file. For example, nipponsei has this HUGE lists and it's always a nightmare to find the right bot code. XDD
Maybe this irc was like the torrents' father but as many people had around the file it will be shared (or something like that. XD;;;)
(I must confess I'm REALLY behind in TRC. ^^;;)
